Give thanks this Thanksgiving holiday, in a very special way.

On November 24 and 26, the Washington DC Jewish Community Center will organize over 400 volunteers to prepare 10,000 servings for people in need in the metropolitan area. In order to keep with the Jewish dietary laws we cooked Everything... But The Turkey.

We will provide a hearty Thanksgiving Day meal for the 2,000 residents of the Community for Creative Non-Violence (C.C.N.V.) homeless shelter, the largest in the country. In addition to supplying food to C.C.N.V., our partner, DC Central Kitchen will distribute the remaining meals to local homeless shelters, transitional housing facilities and community kitchens in DC. Registration for this project opens October 15, 2008.
